Music Policy

Vectis Radio’s music policy emphasises diversity and variety, catering to a wide range of tastes and preferences. They strive to feature a mix of genres, including pop, rock, indie, dance, soul, and more. Our playlists are carefully curated to include both popular hits and well known classic album tracks, ensuring listeners encounter new music alongside familiar favourites. This was our promise to ofcom when we were awarded our FM license.

Additionally, we support local artists and bands by featuring their work on air. Overall, Vectis Radio aims to provide an engaging and inclusive musical experience for their audience, so if you don’t want the same old tunes every day, you will never be bored with Vectis radios playlist you never know what you’re gonna get, but there’s a good chance that you bought it back in the day!!.

At present we are proud to have a jazz show on a Monday, classic rock on a Wednesday, buckles and blues on Thursdays, soul on Friday, two dance shows on a Saturday and a new music show on Sunday all of these start at 7 o’clock and if you think that we’re missing a genre you could be the missing link, why not come and join us?

Being on the Isle of Wight, we are blessed with many wonderful musicians, singers, songwriters and producers that’s why we encourage our local talent to send us their songs so that we can put them on the playlist all that we ask is that they are radio friendly, 2 to 4 minutes long and labelled correctly please send them to ian.mac@vectisradio.fm

Our music policy during the course of the day is everything that was a hit from the 1950s through to the present day, it’s designed for this reaction ” I haven’t heard this in years!!”
